Thalassia's Story (Scute Approved Reading!)
A true story about Thalassia, a juvenile green sea turtle rehabilitated at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center. Thalassia was found floating near St. Augustine, FL and arrived at the center on December 14, 2009. Signs of an old boat propeller injury were apparent on the carapace damaging hind flipper movement. As a result of the injuries, Thalassia was deemed unreleasable and transferred to the Oklahoma Aquarium near Tulsa, OK on September 21, 2011 as an ambassador for sea turtles.
